Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 20, 2026
We run a butcher shop. We're not in the data business. This page tells you exactly what we collect, why, who touches it, and how to get rid of it if you want.
What We Collect
- Party tray form: your name, phone, email (optional), event date, headcount, and any notes you send us.
- Newsletter signup: first name, email, and phone (optional, for text deals).
- Gift card purchase: buyer name + email, recipient name + email (if gifting), and any personal message. Payment details go straight to Stripe — we never see your card number.
- MeatBot chat:the messages you type. We don't ask for your name or email to chat.
- Automatic stuff: your IP address (for rate limiting and spam blocking), browser type, and what pages you viewed. Standard web analytics.
Why We Collect It
- To call you back when you request a party tray or ask a question.
- To send the gift card you bought to the right inbox.
- To tell you about specials if you signed up for the list.
- To keep bots out of our forms and chat. Rate limits and honeypots need IP addresses to work.
- To figure out what's working on the site (which pages people read, which buttons they click).
Who Touches Your Data
We use a handful of trusted services to run the site. Each one sees only the specific data it needs:
- Vercel— hosts the site and runs basic analytics (pageviews, device types). No personal info.
- Stripe— processes gift card payments. Handles all card data securely under PCI compliance.
- Resend— sends gift card receipts, party tray quote requests, and newsletter notifications. Also stores newsletter subscribers for future broadcast campaigns.
- Upstash— stores gift card balances and redemption history in a secure database.
- Anthropic— powers the MeatBot chat. Your messages are sent to Anthropic to generate the response.
- Sentry— catches errors on the site. May record technical context (URL, user agent) when something breaks.
We don't sell your information to anyone. We don't share it with advertisers. Nobody gets your email except the services above and Mark, Adam, and Dave behind the counter.
Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies (to remember things like your dark mode preference and your chat history while you're on the site) and basic pageview analytics. We don't use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. No Facebook Pixel. No Google Ads retargeting.
Your Rights
You have the right to ask us:
- What information we have about you.
- To delete it (unless we're required to keep it — like gift card records for tax purposes).
- To correct it if it's wrong.
- To stop emailing you (just hit unsubscribe).
To make any of these requests, call us at (440) 260-9788 or stop by the shop.
Kids
Our site isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe we have, call us and we'll delete it.
California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have specific rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request deletion. Everything above applies. To exercise these rights, call the number below. We don't sell personal information in the way the CCPA defines "sell."
How We Protect Your Data
- Everything moves over HTTPS (encrypted in transit).
- Payment information goes directly to Stripe — we never see or store credit card numbers.
- Rate limits and honeypots block automated abuse of our forms and chat.
- Admin access to gift card records is behind a password and rate-limited against brute-force attempts.
No system is 100% secure. If something ever goes wrong, we'll tell you directly and work with you to make it right.
Changes to This Policy
If we change anything important, we'll update the date at the top. Keep checking back if you're the kind of person who reads privacy policies (we appreciate you).
